Landscape Design_01
It’s not just the inside and outside appearance and design of a building that should be given attention – the space around them is equally important and deserves the same amount of care and thought in terms of how they make the building work in all seasons.
This small garden was looking a little tired and, although well used by the residents, lacked a certain ‘bling’.
With some thought, ADMS provided a design which would allow those living in the house to avail of an extended dining area. Raising of the ground to facilitate this removed the clumsy steps which were previously in place making access to and from the adjoining kitchen / living area much easier. Careful placement of purpose-built planters and artificial grass areas ensured that all needs were catered for – BBQ space, kids trampoline area, ‘al-fresco’ dining area and a curved wall / hidden storage space (which also hides the oil tank!).
Finally – considered integrated LED lighting brings the patio area to life in the hours of darkness. Small maybe, but a beautiful place to spend a summer’s evening.
We really do like to be part of designing good party and entertaining spaces!
(Even the paving supplier, Acheson & Glover, thought this little project worthy of including in their promotional material – we must be doing something right)
