“The foolish man built his house upon the sand” (?)

Well – Apparently not! In fact, during the construction of this beach-side dwelling our engineer reliably informed us that sand, in the correct consistency, can be an excellent bearing for foundations!

Some years on this has proved true, as this dwelling continues to be a well-used beach / holiday type home, yet suitable for use all year around.

Approved as a replacement for a very small ‘tin hut’ type house, this contemporary, single storey house employs a very simple, but effective internal layout of open plan living with vaulted / high ceilings and full length glazing to one half, with the more private / secular bedrooms spaces to the other (rear) half.

Coastal sunshine fills the living area, and residents can enjoy outdoor living to the adjoining patio space – all under the watchful eye of Binevenagh Mountain, whilst the sounds of the sea waves crash in the near distance from the rear. Idyllic.
