Gaining planning approval for this contemporary dwelling was something to be celebrated. This was due to the fact that the site was set within the garden of a large listed residential property, and as such the Historic Environments Division also bore scrutiny on the proposal. Thankfully, to our client’s delight, the design was accepted without any amendments being required. The minimal approach of the scheme, careful site planning arrangement (including a full landscape design), combined with ensuring the new design would not ‘outshine’ the presence of its senior neighbour all helped secure approval. We are hoping to see a start on this site during the coming year.
