Ling House
Gracing the cover of the “Buildings At Risk Register”, as well as being a listed building – this property brought a huge, but interesting challenge to ADMS Architects. Ling House in the rural area of Slieveboy in Claudy, was once home to Col. Adam Murray – the well-known commander of the Siege Of Derry.
Dilapidated and showing many structural issues having been unmaintained for many years, our client was incredible open to the demands of the Historic Environments Division to have the property fully restored to its full glory.
Along with retention of the old barn, and contemporary extension was also approved – allowing for a generous home office and additional bedroom wing to be added.
A project involving many hours of work, alongside a fantastic client who completed the dwelling with his dedication to restoration of the landscaping works – ADMS Architects were honoured to play their part in returning this historically important dwelling back to a modern family home – yet retaining its past significance.
